Explore the West Coast National Marine Sanctuaries with Jean-Michel Cousteau (the second book in the series) was just released and yesterday Jean-Michel Cousteau was on Craig Ferguson to talk about his new film and his new book. It's very exciting to not only see my work on national television but to see this new book get some great publicity and bring attention to our National Marine Sanctuaries. The banter between Craig Ferguson and Jean-Michel Cousteau is pretty entertaining as well. Click here to watch the interview.

Trying to decide whether to invest in a professional designer for the cover of your book? The New York Times just released a great article on the importance of cover design in todays digital world. One quote really stood out as I was reading it:

"1Q84 has sold 95,000 copies in hardcover and 28,000 in e-book"

It's hard to argue against the fact that the books unique cover played a large role in those numbers.

The Florida Publishers Association (FPA) presented a gold medal in the Cover Design category to Ocean Publishing for Explore the Southeast National Marine Sanctuary with Jean-Michel Cousteau.

Upon learning of the award during recent travels, publisher Frank Gromling said he was very happy that his fellow Florida publishers recognized the beautiful cover created by Ocean’s designer Nate Myers. In May of this year this book also won the coveted Benjamin Franklin Award in New York City when the Independent Book Publishers Association recognized just 53 books with its top award out of over 1300 submissions.
